Instead encourage debate without resorting to fist fights and discussions without putting others down. Learn to listen compassionately and let's not substitute Grey hair for ego. Time at best is an indicator of a life spent but not perhaps of a life well spent. Achievement is.
Focus on achievement not on grades alone but in a life well spent doing meaningful work. This starts by ensuring every child around is secure in the things they want to explore n not victim to parental bias due to lack of exposure. Whilst not every one can be an influencer

When others make life choices for kids jirga style around education, professions and career objectives basing it on either a life of struggle, hardship or equally that of luxury it becomes a self serving bias that may not translate well for the person in question.Encourage choice
Guide kids but let them be responsible for their decisions. Hand holding and hovering over kids + over involvement will do no one justice. Is true for both that have vs those that don't. Both types of parents drive weird energy into their kids resulting in regret driven future.
Regret for the kids, who when they are kids no more wish they took a stand. Open conversations will lead to open homes which will lead to outcomes that allow us to do more and get further in life. Let's not box our future or encapsulate it in the silhouettes of our shortcomings.
I am waiting for the day when kids are happy to share that they want to be a farmer, a jewelery designer, a calligrapher, a stone worker, an industrial designer or a carpenter. Let people be the best at what they want to do vs a shitty image of some 1 else in something they hate.
Economic realities being what they are, offer guidance but be ready to offer acceptance as well. Some one has to break the mould best if this generation does. Nothing is as it seems & sands are shifting beneath our feet. Don't be fooled to think u know best. Self discovery is a
Journey, the best u can offer to do is be a good host in some ones journey besides offering to show only the sights and sounds u are familiar with. Perhaps if u give them the tools for the journey instead, they may discover new and improved sights n sounds. Here's to hoping
