I am fortunate in that I was raised Christian but never had to deal with much in the way of discrimination or bigotry in church life. In fact most people were surprisingly welcoming. Some friends were concerned I would go to Hell, and so would cry to me to please not be gay. 1/..
Some older folks maybe were not happy privately but never showed it to me. On the other hand, in college, I had gay friends that were very anti-Christian specifically. They would always belittle or call anyone who was Christian dumb. I was atheist by that time and so I joined /2.
Some things we said were atrocious and advocated genociding all these ignorant Christians so we could make progress. Once I did a bunch of MDMA and acid I realized how hateful and ignorant I was, and am ashamed of how I thought at the time. I had a good religious community... 3/
... that never judged me and only wished the best. I just hope other LGBT who harbor extremely negative thoughts and feelings about Christians realize how hateful and ignorant they are being, and how it's ironically what the LGBT community accuses Christians of doing. 4/4
