5e Classes as Medical Specialties: A thread.

Barbarian: Orthopaedic Surgery.

Capable of great feats of strength. Tendency to hit things with a hammer. Useful in a tight spot but, honestly, it’s the one spot.
Bard: General Practice

Good at bloody everything. Need to be able to charm the birds from the trees. Tendency to fall over if hit slightly too hard.
Clerics: Physicians/Gen Med

Multi Talented. Healing. Slightly superior attitude. Belief in a higher power of dubious authenticity (serum sodium)
Druids: Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Wield great power over the natural world. Often wet from the knees down. Deal with things everyone else makes faces at.
Will turn into a ferocious bear if you meddle with their people
Fighter: General Surgery

Multi skilled. Great in an emergency. Seemingly endless reserves of energy. Ultimately will stab things if nothing else comes to mind.
Monk: Emergency

Spend all day jumping and leaping from one thing to another. Capable of sudden bursts of speed. Prefer others to do the long haul. Completely useless if out of ki (coffee)
Paladin: Intensive Care

Solid. Dependable. Utterly convinced they’re right. Fight for a power no one else can see (NorAd). Use terminology no one else understands. Strong affinity with Clerics and Rangers
Ranger: Anaesthetics

Isolated. Solo. Can take care of themselves. Lots of skills to navigate the world but need their bow or they’re lost. Slightly focused on some point in the distance no one else cares about - 90% of the time they're right
Rogue: Radiology
Skulking around in the dark. Suddenly there when you need them, hard to find if they don’t want you to. Absolutely clutch in many situations but also not averse to stabbing you if necessary.
Sorcerer: Oncology

What is this weird power you have? How are you shaping so much with it. Also I’m a little but afraid and I’m gonna wear some special gloves when going near you. Incredible at communication.
Warlock: Psychiatry

A delicate balance of two worlds, one much more ephemeral than the other. Wrestling demons every day. Incredibly powerful and sadly shunned by some narrow minded people. Eldritch Blast Dependent
Wizard: Pathology

Mumbling terms the rest of us are completely confused by. Often found in a lab in an isolated tower. Sudden great power to change EVERYTHING. Books books books.
Artificer: Rehab

Excuse me we’re just gonna attach THIS and THIS and THIS and there ya go, now you work better. Also don’t go near open flames you may explode.
Blood Hunter: Haematology

Nuff said.
Dungeon Master: Paediatrics

Juggling 20 things at once while entertaining everyone. Have to deal with the most difficult people ever (players/parents). The cause of all our problems by keeping everyone alive to adulthood
