The liberal movement would also cry for regulation on church power and it's monopoly on land holdings and the abuses of power it was accused of. However, liberal ideals would face considerable backlash from conservatives as they attempted to retain a cultural worldview.. #h1180
.. and value system that revolved around the Church. Nation building would be a slow and bloody scene for much of Latin America as colonial institutions didn't simply fade because it was renamed a republic and it's impoverished state left wide a door for corruption.. #h1180
