sometimes I'm like with communists and other times I'm like goddamn these are all children and the fact that they won't consider the flaws in their ideas is going to prevent leftism from moving forward in the future!

i make a policy of not starting fights among other leftists but the way communism gets so watered down and then popularized as a half taught concept to the younger generation is actually like...really frusterating

the whole reason I'm anarchist is that there is a mindset to communism that forms that is entirely oppositional to how i view leftism...in that there is a level of "people can be sacrificed for the good of the whole," which i will literally never support

and to watch that get exacerbated in people who don't learn half of what they're talking about when they start on leftist politics...it makes me go crazy. you get so called "commies" whose only belief is that the government should force people to do the right thing

with no concept of how nuanced "the right thing" actually is or how flawed a government will inevitably be if given unchecked control over a population. they literally advocate authoritarianism bc they don't understand how socialism actually works

the reactionary response to capitalism leaving all these unchecked issues seems to be the desire for an invasive, controlling government and i don't know how to tell these kids that's *wrong* or that's not even what communism is about, they don't want to hear it
