1/3: You know what was hard today? When I teach at school, which is usually multiple days per week, I love going into my teammates’ classrooms to check on their kids, including some of my first quarter kids. This gives me the in-person experience that virtual teaching lacks.
2/3: Some kids gave me valentines, which was super sweet. One kiddo came up to me and said, “Mr. Eastman, I’m sorry I didn’t get you a valentine. I got the in-person teachers a valentine but didn’t get you one because I didn’t think you worked here anymore.”
3/3: I laughed in the moment, but it definitely stuck with me. One of my biggest fears of virtual teaching was that I would become disconnected from the school, and it’s happening. So, how’s virtual teaching going? You may not want to ask me today.
