Review of the Chelsea vs Barnsley game in a thread. I want to just start by saying I'm happy we won,I'm happy we are through & got a favourable draw. I'm still confident in the FA cup being our best chance of success but we cannot repeat what we saw last night. Anyway...

Kepa - Fair play, mostly a decent display. Didn't concede, made some great stops & claims. Wish the guy the best but he needs to be moved on. We've seen enough in my opinion.
Alonso - Simply awful. Other than the odd goal offers nothing.

Christensen - amazes me how easily people are convinced all of a sudden he is up to it. Granted he was good in last couple of games, the weight of evidence & last night expose all of his weaknesses. He is not a premier league defender. Too weak physically & mentally.

Zouma - Looked rusty. Still think him & Silva are currently our best CB's. Wasn't his best game though.
Emerson - I don't recall seeing much good from him. Again not even sure what position him & Alonso were playing tbh. Neither looked any good.

Kante - Made some good interceptions early on but looked rusty & made a few mistakes. On form I'd still have him in my midfield though.
Billy G - Very good, had a few ropey moments like a lot of them but mature beyond his years.

Pulisic - Really struggling at the moment. Not a good performance. Needs to pick himself up & recall last season's form.
Ziyech - Awful. Sorry the guy looked great at Ajax & has had a few moments with us but so unimpressed with him. Needs to improve A LOT.

Hudson-Odoi - Very bright, tried hard, wasn't his best game, pitch didn't help & no real support at times. Still most in form winger we have.
Tammy - MOTM, early on he looked awful. Grew into the game, got a goal & defended like Drogba used to. Impressive.

Subs - Rudiger - Looked okay, better than Christensen marginally but we need to look at Centre backs all over again. Silva is the best, we have some good ones out on loan which is a good place to start.
RJ - Excellent. Should be a starter for me now he is fit. Great assist.

Anjorin - Reminds of RLC, physicality doesn't phase him which for someone or his age is impressive, looks comfortable on the ball. Its good to see Tuchel put some faith in him like Lamps did. He's going to be a good player - maybe get him in the 1st team more often.

Kovacic - Didn't have massive amounts to do but looked okay when he came on. He is a starter based off form alone right now.
To summarise...
- Youth saved us again.
- We need to be more clinical
- We are getting results by the skin of our teeth, our luck will run out.

- Players need to get into form or simply be replaced by hungrier players. We missed Mount & Silva.
- Trust in youth.
- Tuchel isn't really to blame. Players need to sort themselves out, maybe Tuchel needs to swap around a bit as the back 3 will get found out.

- We have progressed & have a favourable draw next round. We can get to the final potentially.

All in all I am happy we have progressed. I have concerns & we need to focus on the next match. Let's keep the streak going & get some form while we are at it. UP THE CHELS!
