Yesterday I talked with the folks at @IssuesEtc about Gina Carano's firing. Let me revisit something I said there:

To understand the woke mindset, here's an analogy: Imagine you're a Lutheran pastor like me. One Sunday morning, you go to church and there's a Muslim imam standing in your pulpit. You ask him what he's doing. He says he's going to preach to your congregation.
So you say to him, "uh, no. That pulpit belongs to the person who is going to confess what we believe, someone who will speak things we say are true. And you don't believe those things. So you're not welcome in that space.
"You're welcome at my dinner table. You're welcome to sit beside me at a football game. But you're not welcome in the sacred place that only belongs to people who speak the truth."
That is essentially how the Woke treat their pulpits. If you don't embrace the latest orthodoxy on gender, politics, abortion, whatever the issue, you're like a Muslim in a Lutheran pulpit. You don't belong there. You have to leave.
The big difference with the Woke, however, is that they firmly believe THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE is their pulpit. Washington is their pulpit. Schools are their pulpit. Corporate America is their pulpit. Social Media is their pulpit. Your job is their pulpit.
And because they consider fame and praise the blessings of righteousness, Hollywood is DEFINITELY their pulpit. So it doesn't matter that Carano's politics don't have any bearing on The Mandalorian. She doesn't believe the dogma, so she doesn't deserve a prime pulpit spot.
And while not all pulpits are as flashy as a Star Wars one, the Woke will never be content with a single spot in their universe-wide pulpit being occupied by ANYONE who doesn't share their ideology.
As they continue purging Hollywood of any heretics, they'll also hunt them down wherever they find them or wherever they think they can manufacture them. Teachers, athletes, grocery store clerks, dentists, etc...
So if we want to put an end to cancel culture, it would behoove us to recognize that we're not simply dealing with bitter, jealous losers looking to pick fights on the internet because they need their brains to release some dopamine.
We're dealing with committed religious zealots who won't stop destroying people's lives until they're completely robbed of their cultural power, which very well may require a more boycotty, make-friends-with-people-you-find-embarassing kind of world.
It will also mean recognizing that we can only destroy an evil, damnation-yielding religion with the one true religion that brings life and salvation. Go to church. Confess Christ. Pray for your enemies and those who persecute you. Live your life in service of others.
The more that we can show people why they should hunger for real pulpits, the less they'll want to make a fake one out of the universe.
