What is missing from this CDC school reopening priority list? Airborne virus guidance! Like almost nothing in 33 page document on ventilation except 1 paragraph on open the windows, but only if feasible. Ventilation should be #2 behind masks! #COVID19

3) “C.D.C. gives lip service to ventilation in its report, and you have to search to find it,” said @j_g_allen, an expert on building safety at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston. “It’s not as prominent as it should be.”
4) The section on ventilation does link to more information online. But all of that is buried, relative to a misguided emphasis on cleaning surfaces like outdoor playground equipment, said Linsey Marr, an expert in airborne transmission of viruses at Virginia Tech...
5) “I think the balance is incorrect in putting so much emphasis on cleaning surfaces and almost no emphasis on cleaning the air, given what we know about how the virus spreads,” Marr said.
6) VENTILATION is key. Both ventilation and masks needed to reduce risk indoors. But most buildings not ventilated well enough.
7) How is aerosol different from large droplets? aerosol study indicates that coronavirus is persistent and stable for many hours. Typical air exchange every 20 min to 4 hrs, depending on ventilation. #COVID19
8) Key is ventilation. 🇯🇵 assumed it was airborne from the beginning. Here is how to ventilate your school classrooms if unable to open window but only have 1 door — use two fans near doorway. #COVID19
9) “Until we recognise that #COVID19 is airborne we are setting ourselves up for repeated failure”

P.s. they don’t use masks in video because Australia 🇦🇺 is at almost #ZeroCovid #COVIDisAirborne
10) this should have been the priority for safe school guidance. Ventilation, air filtration, air cleaning. (From @HarvardChanSPH)
11) Many aerosol experts are incredibly frustrated ... https://twitter.com/corsiaq/status/1360428143014600704
12) for Pete’s sake, even Dr Fauci says it’s airborne. https://twitter.com/drericding/status/1309829079152111616
13) I don’t know how you can just say indoor sports is safe as long as 6 feet. Even outdoors 6 feet isn’t without risk. NFL 🏈 also has done a lot of studies on this—they know 6 feet isn’t enough.
