Viral vectored vaccines (AZ,J&J) tend to diminish in potency w serial boosters as immune system attacks the viral carrier. In ADE, not all antibodies are equal. Some gum up the virus but others enhance entry into human cells, making disease worse. Await trials...2/n
Sure, everything may be just fine but variants are circling & we need to assume that vaccine escape is coming. Therefore start high, expecting some loss of potency then boost with mRNAs which are less likely to lose effect w boosting. Why bet the farm when we have time? 3/n
Could australia wait 6 months having vaxxed its priority group 1 until we acquire more mRNA (why no moderna?)? Hospitalizations & deaths will be prevented while we wait a bit longer until we open with CONFIDENCE. End.
