It's time for Rasmus Sandin to get a spot on this team. A thread:

In 29 career NHL games, Rasmus Sandin has registered 1 goal and 8 assists for 9 total career points. We have seen him in a penalty killing role and even have seen him get some power play reps in, looking quite solid on both sides.
I sometimes find myself watching Sandin and saying "wow, he looks calm out there." Staying poised and patient in most areas. Sandin receives a face-off win, remaining patient and poised, he wards off pressure, setting up a goal with a secondary assist.
Offensively speaking, Sandin has very strong offensive awareness. Effectively distributing the puck to forwards in the offensive zone. Here you see Sandin make an incredible breakout pass to spring Nylander on a breakaway, picking up a primary assist.
Sandin also plays with a very high Hockey IQ defensively. Here you see Sandin in the neutral zone, recognizing he has time to attack the puck carrying Pearson and delivers a nice hit and forces a turn over.
Sandin controlling the play to the outside, delivering an effective body check to stop the rush and turn the puck over to Toronto.
Overall, I believe that Sandin is equipped with the offensive and defensive skill and versatility on special teams to make him a solid defender for the Maple Leafs for years to come.
