In Hollywood, you can be fired or blacklisted because you "rubbed someone the wrong way" once 10 years ago. Because you broke some unspoken social rule you didn't know existed. You wore the wrong outfit to a meeting with a man who hates women. You will never ever fucking know.

These big public firings over racist tweets send men who have not worked in Hollywood a day in their lives writing long essays about the way Hollywood works. The stories I could tell you would blow your mind. The reasons why people don't get jobs are petty beyond belief.

There are conservatives thriving in Hollywood and running shit, making a fuck ton of money. Try negotiating a deal for your union with the studios, then come back and tell me conservatives don't have a pretty tight grip on this industry. LOL. Shut the fuck up.

I hate that the industry is like this. Too reliant on whisper campaigns and less on plain-as-day qualifications. Too controlled by fear, by assholes. The people that have suffered the most from this environment are not white conservatives.

The push for diversity and inclusion, the outing of abusive people in positions of power, studios being held to a new standard - all of this, is perhaps giving the other side a taste of their own medicine. Welcome.

p.s. In hollywood, it's VERY hard to know the real reason you get fired or don't get a job. You rarely get the truth. So how is the public supposed to know what really happened? One offensive tweet? Or a collection of behavior both public and private that pissed off the employer?

certain shows/studios/networks really hate it when their actors run their mouths publicly. It might just be as simple as "please stop bringing attention to yourself, you are nothing to us. Let us remind you." Lots of "WE OWN YOU" vibes in this town.
