1. Hello again! I've been thinking for a while to write this thread and this is time!
My thoughts about #crypto ecosystem, what it looks like to me and what can happen in the future! It's gonna be huge thread, so fasten your belts!
$ftm
2. I previously wrote a thread about #ren, and how it is similar to silk road 1500 years ago. And it feels like we are building cities. But not as traditional cities, we are building cities on internet.
3. In those cities we have our own #currencies, our own #governance, our own #banking systems, our own economical features, our own communities. And with the development of internet, we don't need land or place for social gatherings.
4. Instead of #parliament we have #telegram or #discord for example. Instead of #voting with ballots, we have on-chain #governance.
5. And #ethereum is like Istanbul (not Constantinople) or New York. It's the biggest city out there. It's the first city, all the development is there, and because there is so much development, people want to be part of that city.
6. And it's not going anywhere. At least not in near future. But the problem is, it's congested, its traffic sucks.
You have to wait 1 hour in traffic just to go to a restaurant or smt.
7. And the main difference in #ethereum with real life traffic is:
In real life, everybody has to wait. No one can pay money to fly or smt.
But in #ethereum you can pay more to make instant transactions.
8. And the rich can pay so much that gas fees are skyrocketed. It's not like they don't want to pay for it.
It's that expensive because they want to take their profits sooner.
It's a demand issue.
9. But it's a hell for new developers. They can have some brilliant ideas, or excited to build, but if they don't have at least 100k $ in their pocket, it's not possible to deploy a protocol in #etheerum.
10. And #fantom feels like a new city. We are building our own city from scratch.
It's not as big as New York right now, but we are getting there slowly buy surely.
11. And because it's a new city, it is so cheap to build. There is no traffic. There is no congestion.
And not just that, but we have modernized roads, modernized houses etc.
It's more optimised than New York, just waiting to be explored.
12. Even if we achieve to be as big as New York, New York is not going anywhere. That's why we are #ethereum helpers. Not killers.
And we can achieve more if we can communicate and make business with New York right?
#ren is building that bridge for us to communicate.
13. There are so much development going on, and it's really cheap to build on #opera. Why?
Because New York is so congested that it doesn't want any more people.
But we welcome any people who is good at building something. We need developers, we need builders etc.
14. We are going to be as big as #ethereum one day, then maybe we can get in a race with it.
You can't race with it until there is as much as development on your city.
But we are getting there.
15. @unitprotocol @ProtocolGravity @DeusDao decided to build in our city this week. There is much more to come i hope. And i am thankful for them to be here!
16. It feels like i can't stop writing this thread, so let's end here. But to conclude, we as a community can build the city together.
If we sit and wait, and tell developers to do some shit, it will be slow and bad environment for the actual developers.
17. But if we get some hammer or something and start building, for example i'm not that good at tech development but i'm trying to explain things to people, and maybe i can inspire some of you to develop here, we will be as strong as steel.
18. We are as strong as our development.
Our city can be as big as we dream it to be.
Personally i don't like to dream ordinary. I like to dream big.
And this is a place to dream big.
Come to build on #opera, as #fantom community, we will appreciate your work here!
19. Thank you for reading! Let's meet in another thread! $ftm
