Much has been made of the Knicks rotations. For a team that has surpassed most people's expectations and much can be attributed to the new coaching staff new mentality, their rotations a lot have been questioned. So here’s a thread of some stats about certain rotations.

1/7
RJ Barrett and Julius Randle on with Elfrid Payton are +8.57 per 100 possessions in 157 minutes while all three on are -2.41 per 100 possessions. RJ and Randle are obviously starters but it really should just be painfully obvious that Elfrid shouldn’t be a starter on this team.
I mean this just becomes more and more obvious when you see Immanuel Quickley is a +12.79 net with RJ and Randle on the courtin 116 minutes. This makes a lot of sense as Quickley provides an outside threat while the one thing that has been put into question with him, passing and*
*facilitating, whether those questions are fair or not are something RJ and Randle are very good at. When Quickley is on without RJ and Randle (most of the second unit lineups he’s in) it’s -11.1 net so no question in my mind Quickley should be the starting PG.
I also think the Knicks should stagger RJ and Randle’s minutes a bit more, especially if Elfrid were to remain the point guard. Randle on RJ off is a +0.34 Net while RJ on Randle off is a +6.86 Net. Them both on -0.21. This makes sense as both players like to handle the ball*
*and do better with the ball in their hands whereas especially with Elfrid starting at PG besides them Elfrid becomes even more useless than he already is without the ball.
Nothing will ever be perfect, and things have gone pretty well this year for the most part but these are just a few things that would be nice adjustments for this team to make.
Wrote this whole thing and got aired lol
