A brief thread on NFL free agency in 2021...

The Dolphins find themselves in a pretty good situation -- if they will be looking to add veteran free agents, that is.

Not only are the Dolphins a top-10 team in terms of cap space, but they have something else on their side...1/3
In addition to expiring contract free agents, I expect there to be a flood of veteran free agents to the market. Teams will need to cut pricier established veterans to navigate the decreasing 2021 cap.

These veterans will likely end up signing short, below-market deals... 2/3
So what will these veterans be looking for?

-Shorter duration contracts to re-enter market when cap increases
-Respected coach/culture
-Desirable location to live
-Team on the rise
-More bang for their buck (i.e. low income taxes)

The Dolphins check those boxes more than most.
