Our dedicated teams provide medical assistance to people based on need.
Right now, in #Ukraine, that means reaching remote communities in eastern Ukraine who are bearing the brunt of COVID-19.

Oleksandr, an MSF doctor in Donetsk region, says that patients (many of them elderly) face multiple obstacles to being tested and treated for COVID-19.
This means that many people struggle to get the care they need and end up suffering in silence (2/5)

Why can’t they access care?
The health system has been strained by six years of conflict
People can’t afford expensive transport to reach far-away healthcare facilities
Many doctors have fallen ill, & some have resigned because they're vulnerable to COVID-19 (3/5)

So how are we helping those in need?
MSF nurses Inna and Tetyana start each day by contacting up to 60 patients with suspected COVID-19.
The team spends the rest of the day doing home visits (as many as 50 a day!) and transporting COVID-19 samples for testing. (4/5)
