Respectfully, @NPR, this is false.

"I mean, if you've ever been in a kindergarten classroom, they don't know where to throw tissues, you know, to throw them in the trash can, much less keep a mask on their face 100% of the time." https://www.npr.org/2021/02/11/966564643/teachers-on-the-push-to-return-to-the-classroom

Young children are objectively the safest population to interact with re:Covid. There have been no outbreaks traced to a little kid superspreader. Teachers who get Covid get it from other teachers/staff.

We cannot possibly be striving for 100% compliance -- in anything! Requiring 100% is shorthand for it's not gonna happen.
I have been working, in person, with young children the entire pandemic.
My 3-5 year-olds keep their masks on just fine and remind each other to do so.

I've noticed an upsetting trend in discussions re: opening elementary schools. Adults seem to act like kids are toxic imbeciles who cannot be trusted to not kill them.
Young children have been spared the brunt of Covid. This is great! Celebrate this and let kids go to school!
