i get why libcap is the default "they actually like each other" pairing bc theyre 1. in the same quadrant 2. have more/earlier canon interaction than any of the anarchopolycule, but i think we could put a little drama in there, a little spice, there's room
imo, the difference in how seriously the ideologies are taken (and i'm not worried about mischaracterizing either of these ideologies bc theyre. that, so idc if i'm wrong) translates pretty well to a dynamic of ancap being an image libertarian idolizes but doesn't take seriously.
to the outside world, theyre an evil business power couple. but ancap's basically a trophy husband. the respect he gets among the librights/in ancapistan is probably somewhat dependent on lib legitimizing his beliefs, bc the other librights will consistently side w lib over him.
the way ancap sees it, he represents the freedom (as much exploitation as u can afford!) lib claims to value, but won't fully commit to. the way lib sees it, he's constantly doing damage control for all ancap's wacky opinions (which are probably just the places they disagree).
ancap is too much for everyone around him, too extravagant and too demanding, nobody can ever quite fulfill him but half the time he interprets his being too-much as being not-enough, constantly demanding more of those around him and himself, he's never satisfied
and i don't feel too bad for ancap, because he's ancap, but there is something compelling in this character of just like "nobody likes or respects me, i know my whole being is somewhere between a joke and a living hell but i want approval anyway."
and neither of them know how to resolve conflicts w/o money so they just buy each other expensive gifts to say "sorry i called you a feudal lord, here's a private jet to show my love", but that's all the emotional depth either of them is capable of so it works out great for them
