Lord Barnard (known locally as Lardy Barnyard) is a man who has inherited huge tracts of County Durham and has never had to work to earn a crust.
He is threatening local parish councils who object to housing developments.1/3
He has warned that if the councils - with the backing of their electors - take him to court over the matter, he will demand that the councils pay his legal costs.
This is akin the feudal times when the serfs did as the Lord said and had no right to justice. 2/3
Happily, the good people of Gainford and Staindrop are preparing to fight back.
Lardy Barnyard is one of those leeches who live off the people rather than contributing. 3/3
