I’ve learned a ton & been so grateful for @joerogan & the wisdom & knowledge he & his guests share!

It’s been a valuable resource for me over the years & I’ve taken notes on many of them!

He has great sayings & quotes to live by & here’s my top 5
👇👇
1)”Live life like you’re the hero of your own movie.”

This struck me hard.
That little voice in your head is with you 24-7.
Why not have it telling you all day you’re a hero!

This takes a lot of intent & practice but once your mind starts working for you, your life takes off 🚀
I started by practicing gratitude each day.
✅993 days in a row I’ve woken up & journaled what I’m grateful for programming my mind to see the good always!
✅When challenges (opportunities) arise, I think what would the hero do?
Not complain!
Set priorities & takes ACTION!
2)”We define ourselves too often by past failures.
THATS NOT YOU!!
You’re this person right now who has learned from these failures!!”

🔥This was straight fire for my soul.
I was:
-depressed
-divorced
-college dropout
-on anxiety meds
-skinny fat 149lbs & 0 muscle
-a failure
I defined myself like that for too long.

Then it clicked!
I am who I say I am today right now in this moment!
Better yet, I am who God says I am.
A blessed, anointed loved child of the King🙏

The past is the past.
Learn & move on!

Free yourself, you’re past doesn’t define you!
3)”So instead of investing your time into your passion, you’ve sold your life to work for an uncaring machine that doesn’t understand you.
That’s the problem with our society?
And what’s the reward?
Go home & buy a big TV.”

🔥The things you own ended up owning you!!
I was like most people working a job I didn’t like to buy stuff that didn’t affect my happiness at all.
❌Bigger TV
❌Luxury car
❌Designer clothes
❌New watch

I was trading my most precious commodities, time & energy,
to buy things.

I got really intentional about this.
What I crave is freedom, time & passion to pursue what I love.
How silly to trade that for “Stuff”

I crave experiences with people I love not things.

On the Joe Rogan podcast
@naval said if they can tell you
-what to wear
-what hours to be there

Then you aren’t free!!
We took this heart & I’m proud to say after 6.5 years in corporate 2 weeks ago I told my boss I am going to 20 hours a week.

-We don’t upgrade cars
-Don’t own designer clothes (heck I don’t own shirts)

But what I have is the ability to choose how I spend my time & energy now!💪
4)”Live your life like there’s a camera crew filming the documentary of your comeback!”

I’ll never forget hearing this.
It stopped me in my tracks!

❌I was in a bad marriage that felt hopeless to get the passion back
❌Dad bod/no energy
❌On anxiety meds
❌Depressed
🔥Don’t “feel” like getting up early to lift, what if a film crew was there?
🔥Feel like going easy at the gym, what if a film crew was there?
🔥Feel like eating crap? Being a lazy dad or blaming husband?
What if it was being filmed & everyone would see that?
I used to think of this a lot of mornings going to train!💪

I listened to this motivational Joe Rogan clip 500 times when I was starting my journey back to
-fit
-healthy
-high energy
-strong faith
-great husband & dad

When you don’t feel it,
pretend you are being filmed!!🔥🔥
5)”One of the most fascinating lessons I’ve absorbed about life is that the struggle is good.”

COMFORT IS A CAGE

I never knew this until I sought a comfortable life & had it & ended up miserable!

We need challenges, a mission that springs us up out of bed ready to win the day!
I took this to heart & started embracing hard things!

❌I hate waking up early, not a morning person I said.
✅Up before the sun most days now.

❌I hate cold
✅Cold showers & breath work

❌I hate training legs
✅Never miss them now!

🔥DO HARD THINGS & CALLOUS YOURSELF DAILY!
It’s why I was so soft
I refused to be uncomfortable ever.

I didn’t need anxiety meds,
I needed to quit wasting my life with Netflix, porn & booze.

I needed discipline & to push myself to new challenges daily!!
That set me free!🙏

Discipline = freedom in so many ways
Rogan loves Confucius, he states in one episode that dude was a bad mother F*er :)

“Every man has two lives, and the second starts when he realizes he has just one.”

Is one of my all time favorite quotes.

You have one life!
I urge you to care more about it than Netflix & 🥃
One of my favorite people on here @smithhmackenzie recently tweeted

“You’re life’s purpose wasn’t to pound booze, watch TV & die young.
Start working towards something meaningful.”

I beg you today to take some steps & start moving towards your ideal goals & life!!🔥💪
✅Take adventures with loved ones!
✅Get outside & enjoy nature’s beauty!
✅Push yourself each day to grow physically, mentally & spiritually!
✅Practice gratitude & live live intentionally & on purpose!
✅Be the best version of you!

🔥Have the best day of your life today!
