Dear Artists~

There are a few pieces of wisdom about portfolio sites that I think are true:

Dont stress having a fancy site, the most important thing is showing off your work ❤️

- make your email/contact easy to find
- better to have 5 solid pieces than 20 inconsistent ones
It’s nice to have a personal site, but that’s a lot of work to do. Imo It’s ok to use something like wix/cargo/square space

I don’t think there is a problem with pointing a domain to art station/behance/tumblr/Instagram so long as it’s easy to see the work is yours & contact
I’m of the mind that I’m not hiring you for your web skills~ I’m hiring you for your art 😂✨✨😘

Don’t worry so much ✨💜 I know a lot of old fart ADs say a lot of wack things that make u so nervous u dont want to post. Forget them, let’s see ur art! 💜
The last thing I will say is that it’s SUPER important to credit who did what in your site. Especially for designers to articulate what it is that you did & what your role was. There are a lot of deceptive portfolios out there and that’s a whole can of worms

Tell your truth 💜
& like keep in mind ~ this is my experience & pov-Take it w as many grains of salt as you wish

Imo Your portfolio shows off your work & is helpful to get you the gigs you want. Yes it’s your brand, so think of it more like a tool and less as your identity for all time. Evolve✨
