272,495 Nebraskans have been vaccinated. We learned during the trials that the vaccines are highly effective in preventing illness so serious that people need to be hospitalized.

Health experts have been cautioning that some folks who are vaccinated will die as a result of preexisting conditions. Statistically we know that of any group of 10 million people, 800 will die in a week from heart disease.
So if you vaccinate 10 million people who are the most medically vulnerable, it's likely some will die -- not from the virus but from underlying health problems.
It's out of an abundance of caution that public health folks keep data on those who are vaccinated.
