Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. To celebrate we’re sharing stories from couples who found love at #NELaw.
We know so many other alumni also found love while in law school. If that sounds like you, we’d love for you to share your story: https://law.unl.edu/alumni/share-update/.

LaShawn and Reginald Young met the summer before they started at #NELaw. Reggie drove LaShawn and her roommate to and from school every day. Love was riding in that car also and LaShawn and Reggie got married about a week before their second year of law school.
Reagan & Max Rodenburg met when Max became a 1L Academic Advisor as a #NELaw 3L. Reagan, a 1L, attended Max's office hours, & after a couple advising sessions, accepted his invitation for a study date, & eventually an actual date. They got engaged a week after Reagan graduated.
Tracy & James Warren didn't really know each other well until they sparked a friendship over an epic Husker football win as 3Ls. After Jamie was assigned to observe Tracy conducting a simulated client interview, he invited her to TGI Fridays and the rest, as they say, is history.
MacKenzie Hertz & Ryan Murphy met at a student-leadership meeting. They talked at the semester kick-off party later that evening. Ryan asked MacKenzie out shortly after. Their relationship withstood both of them studying for the bar exam, and, now, 3 years later, they’re engaged.
Elizabeth Herriot & Nick McGrath fell in love after not saying a word to each other as 1Ls. After a friend let it slip that Nick had a crush the two began studying together, sitting together in class, and ultimately passed the bar exam together. They now live and work in Omaha.
Julie & Jordan Mruz met early in their 1L year & became instant friends. Julie was eventually able to convince him to be more than friends & they started dating. Now, almost 10 years, a wedding, 5 law jobs, and 2 boys later, they are about to have a baby girl on Valentine's Day!
Arianna & Aaron Eddy met during a summer clerkship. They became friends when he started coming to chat with Ari while she was working at the law library. After many study dates & tennis games they graduated, moved to Iowa, were married in 2018, and welcomed their daughter in 2020
Dani Miller and James Sieben were friends throughout law school. One thing led to another and now they are married and working as attorneys in Lincoln.
