I totally forgot to mention that Feb 8-11 marks 8 years smoke-free for me.

#IquitSmoking by switching to #vaping & #snus after multiple failed quit attempts with NRT. Of course, back then (2013), products were still kind of underwhelming for nicotine delivery, so...
I had to fall back on the gum (4mg) to kinda balance things out. I started at 24mg/mL and I'm pretty sure I had something in the 30s-40s, but there weren't any labeling requirements, so who tf knows.
- My dad's advice also predates the #EveryTryCounts campaign.
- My point isn't that my dad's a super-genius, rather that consumers took control of their destinies long before science & regulators caught up.
- He continues to enjoy NRT gum (mom could do w/o all the chewing tho).
- Consumers did it again with vaping, and actually hit incumbent tobacco companies in the wallet. (And when you hit an industry that generates >$10bn in tax revenue, you hit the state in the wallet too, #COI).

Anyhoo, I don't smoke anymore (neither does my dad) and I don't want to go back. But as long as regulators and tobacco control folks keep making this out to be some epic struggle between good & evil, regular folks are being harmed.
