Baton Rouge police dogs bite people at alarming rates, far outpacing peer law enforcement.

In a 3-year period, almost every person bit was Black, more than a third were children. Often, the dogs were during nonviolent, property crimes.

And typically, officers minimize the injuries, barely mentioning in police reports. Children's parents/guardians often aren't notified.

“I see all the injuries and I will ask, ‘What happened?’” a retired juvenile judge said. ‘The dogs,' [they say] 'They put the dogs on me.’
Pinching myself this story is actually published, after years of records requests, reporting & editing (often at a distance).

Big thanks to @GordonRussell1 + @MarshallProj for finally bringing it to fruition, and most importantly our brave sources who spoke up about this issue.
