If there are nationalist tensions, they are tensions *caused* by ambitious politicians putting their big, global projects first. They can't help themselves, because they prefer to be on the 'global stage', rather than doing what they were appointed to do.
Those projects have included the EU and warmongering -- both on the promise of making the world a "better", "safer" and "more prosperous" place.
They were wrong.

I don't need to tell you what global project the UK govt. is currently preoccupied with, at our expense.

What he wants is political power taken away from democratic domestic policymaking institutions.
i.e. aligning elite interests, and securing them from oversight.
That's a sure *recipe* for conflict.

Because it licences degenerate, self-serving, intransigent governments, who are preoccupied with the 'ethics' that service their interests, not the fact of the political needs of their own populations.

Climate change is to Johnson as 'humanitarian intervention' was to Blair. They externalise - internationalise - their domestic crises. They cast themselves as planet-saving super heroes because they're useless and have no domestic agenda worth speaking of.
