As a Sinhalese my privilege immediately made me angry and upset when I saw this photo. I called out the Tamils justifying this. I argued against it. Since then I've had time to reflect on this by myself. Why did the LTTE get the support of majority Tamils?

Why do many Tamils still reject a unitary state & demand separatism? I didn't understand. I was angry and sad and frustrated.
Then I looked at the Muslims. They have been discriminated against over and over again by the current government.

Their basic right to get a burial after death has been rejected. They have repeatedly been given false promises and hope, only for them to be tricked by those in power. They are our brothers and sisters. The sons and daughters of our soil.

But they have been refused the right to be buried under this soil after death.
When the country they call their motherland continuosly doesn't allow them their basic rights, doesn't care about their beliefs and culture,

what right would I have one day to say that they are wrong if they demand for a separate state? I hope & pray that our Muslim brothers & sisters will not go to that extreme. Please do not fight against us, but fight with us, against the real enemy. The politicians that

Now I understand the Tamil brothers & sisters. And I am sorry that we once pushed you into separatism as a last resort. Please forgive the sins of our fathers & grandfathers. I hope one day we can unite against these dirty politicians who divided us.
