A great conversation kicked off by @Rimmer_A @FloodFlash_Ins in @localglobevc founders community today, asking how to make the 'Monday Team Meeting' more fun / inspirational. Here's some highlights that were shared .... What else are your teams doing?
1/ @faculty_ai @MarcWarner10 have a weekly DJ - a song chosen by one person at the start and end of the meeting as people are gathering/leaving.
2/ @LakaHQ @TobsnT moved it to Friday afternoon for a retro plus week ahead all-hands session. Has the advantage that you can grab a drink plus they leave Zoom (we'd recommend @cosmosdotvideo) open afterwards for people to socialise (instead of a hard cut "now back to work")
3/ @weareferly @billiequinlan start with a 5 min stretch to music led by Billie or co-founder Anna. It gets everyone’s energy up and they make it a bit silly to have a laugh and then get into the meeting.
4/ @BuffaloGrid @DanielBec_P has team across America, Europe and Asia so go for lunch time UK time on Thursday - first thing in the morning for America, lunch in UK and evening in Asia. They record zoom demos which have turned out to be a nice piece of growth history.
5/ @YapilyLtd @sfnvcc use @Slidoapp, so that people can ask any question they want about the company even anonymously and they spend 10 minutes at the end of the session to go through those.
6/ @YapilyLtd also have "Star of the week" concept, where they send out a google form asking to nominate the star of the week and at the end of the updates and demos, we read out loud all comments.
7/ @zincvc @ellagoldner ran "a day in a life of" exercise where people captured 24 hours in 60 sec (mostly videos) to give a sense of how they live their lives > interesting, creative, funny and telling about what people are going through.
8/ @zencargoltd @alexhersham have a section on "Living our values", where people propose ideas and it gets voted on
