A significant group of people, including certain RW intellectuals, seem hell bent on "proving" that India has "underreported" it's Covid-19 cases. 1/n
One thing you'll notice is this, you'll find no doctors saying this. There's a reason for that. Doctors are taught right from the beginning the Iceberg theory of cases.
The Iceberg theory, quite simply, states that the number of people INFECTED always exceeds the number of CLINICAL cases.

There are multiple reasons for that: some patients don't report, some patients are asymptomatic, some are mildly symptomatic and others die due before they're detected.
For an equivalent example, and based outta memory (I'll corroborate it when I get to my books), but some 40% of Indians have serological, or radiographic evidence of an Old Tuberculosis infection.
That obviously doesn't mean that 40% of Indians have had clinical Tuberculosis.
Yet, the same, arbitrary, artificial, and irrelevant parameter has been applied to Covid-19 for no palpable reason.

In all diseases, at all times (with few exceptions), do the actual cases exceed the detected ones.
To somehow breathlessly report this as an example of "India hiding cases" is frankly speaking, malicious.

It needs to be underlined that this is NOT an India specific thing. Equivalent rates from an American study are here.
Frankly speaking, we need to make some type of "community health" as a subject, even if optional, at the higher secondary level. More than ever, the sheer ignorance of people is surprising.
The aforementioned Twitter RW intellectuals are better suited to search online for toilet seats.
