Too many people are confused about my political orientation, since I end up abusing everyone and have been given so many labels, it is difficult to keep a track. So let me make it a bit simple, in my own complicated way. I believe all parties have their vices
and I cant think of a single one that can be absolved for wrongdoings. Each party has its own share of historical baggage, faulty policies and excesses when it was in power.Coming to my own state,I dont like TMCs dictatorial attitude and I wish they would rein in the rogue elements
Other parties have their own share of history, which is to exhausting to delve into. What matters is the present. All said and done, in spite of all the shortcomings, and everything, there is no other party that comes anywhere near, to the evilness that is BJP.
I support every party, that has the biggest chance of defeating BJP in their own states, be it a regional party, CPM or Congress. If they can get into an alliance to keep BJP out, nothing like it but that generally doesn't happen due to many factors like ego, lust for power
Or good old cash. Is there any political leader at the national level, that I think has the power to take on BJP. Yes, I think it is Rahul Gandhi. He is not only a decent human being but also has a strong sense of morality. He has been consistent on his stand.
People may say that he isn't aggressive enough, but I think it is his quality not weakness. We don't need an aggressive politician, but an empathetic leader. I support Congress, doesn't mean that I am blind to it's previous fault lines. My support doesn't mean blind allegiance
or that I won't question it's missteps. Neither would I allow anyone to whitewash the sins of its previous leaders. If someone tries to do that, I will call them out too, on no uncertain terms. If that makes me a musangji, so be it.
I don't believe in identity politics and will never support it, be it in any colour or form. If that makes me a Sarkari, so be it. I don't seek validation from anyone. The only person who can validate or invalidate me, is myself.
I know that not everything was perfect before BJP.Islamophobia was always there and its still going to be there even if BJP is voted out.But no one institutionalised and normalized Islamophobia as BJP did and if you cant see that,no one can help you. Continue being on the high
horse, I hope it takes you somewhere at least. Islamophobia and caste oppression are social problems, and it doesn't have a political solution. We need social reforms for that, and I hope we will get there. But when a structure is infested with termites,we need to get rid of it first
Restoring it and perfecting it come later. I am aware that my choice may not be the righteous choice, but the thing is there is no righteous choice.
