☑️ Analytical thinking & innovation

☑️ Active learning & learning strategies

☑️ Complex problem-solving

☑️ Critical thinking & analysis

☑️ Creativity, originality & initiative

☑️ Leadership & social influence

☑️ Technology use

... & more; all in a day's job for History!
☑️ Resilience, stress tolerance & flexibility (if not now, then when?!)

☑️ Reasoning, problem-solving & ideation (we might not put it *quite* like that last 1, but when in Rome ...)

The ONLY 1 of the 10 skills for 2025 we don't currently do is 'technology design & programming'.
But we ARE increasingly digital, so who knows - watch this space!

For now, though, you're unlikely to find a better degree (or place to do it!) than History.

Employability?

We've got it covered - & not in a mechanistic 'do a degree, become a X' (insert current fad) way.
No - far better. It's a case of doing a fascinating subject IN IT'S OWN RIGHT.

A subject that AS AN INTEGRAL PART of it, without looking explicitly at markets & short-term factors, teaches you the SKILLS you need (& arguably have always needed) to do well.
So - History: for yesterday, today & tomorrow!

And @UoP_History is a great place to do it!

Now: off the high horse & back to fixing up things for the mini-projects our 2nd yr students will be starting on soon, with a mix of internal & external partners ... using those 9 skills!
You can follow @UoP_History.
