Alright, Victoria's back in lockdown so it is time for a DOG THREAD. Category is: dog breeds I particularly like.
As always, you can request less subjective categories for the next one.

Newfoundlands. They're big, they like cuddles, they do rescue people from the ocean. How could you not love a Newfie?
The Basset Fauve de Bretagne is a friendly little, scruffy scent hound from France and I love them very much.
Irish Wolfhounds. The tallest boys. They were originally used in war to drag men off horses and chariots, but these days they're very content taking up your entire couch.
I met a Stabyhoun in The Netherlands once and it was the best. These rare pups are sometimes known as Frisian Pointers. They're one of the rarest dogs on Earth and I'm not sure why they haven't been more widely bred. They are athletic, friendly, and beautiful.
I love big dogs, which is why I adore Leonbergers. The Leonberger was an attempt by Herr Heinrich Essig to create a dog that looked like a lion, part of the crest of Leonberg. I'd call it a success.
I just love looking at Ibizan Hounds. The ears! The tail! They possess a deer-like elegance when they run but they equally love to nap.
German Pointers. I love the shorthaired ones, but I'm a sucker for the wirehaired ones. The absolute beard on the lad
Bernese Mountain Dogs. Impossible to look at one and not feel happy. This is Bronte, I met her last year and I loved every second of it.
Finnish Lapphunds are soooo pretty. I mean look at them! They have beautiful coats and wonderful smiles.
I love a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. They have range. They're tough but small. They will happily snuggle with you all day or run all day long. They adore children and two of my best friends are Staffords. They also have wonderfully silly heads with good smiles
The Rhodesian Ridgeback. I have nothing but respect for a dog that is whip smart, can learn anything but will just refuse to do what you ask unless he wants to.
Australian Shepherds are just so beautiful. The colours! The brains! Here's Halloumi, a beautiful boy I met recently.
Lagotto Romagnolo means “lake dog from Romagna". They were bred for hunting fowl but now they mostly hunt for truffles. I do wonder why people get oodles when these perfect angels have been around for ages.
I really like Border Terriers. They have a wise face. Like they'd give the young lost pup some good advice about keeping safe on the streets until he finds his way back
I love German Shepherds, but I am particularly partial to long haired ones. This is Verene, she's a stunner.
I love a Dogue De Bordeaux. They are huge and slobbery and have hilarious expressions. This is Sugar, a rescue as sweet as her name.
Dalmatians are so beautiful, and have more energy than you imagine. This is Jacko, a liver spotted Dalmatian
There's a reason everyone loves Golden Retrievers. This is my neighbour's dog, Ian. Isn't he handsome?
Alright, fever is back so I'm back to sleep. Tomorrow I will do mix breeds and rescues that I've met and photographed.
