Midoriya Izuku is the very definition of average. He had a very uneventful life growing up with a mom and dad working overseas. He graduated with average grade, got to university taking literature but ended up taking over his —
— grandfather's antique shop which teems with every item imaginable.

His life was pretty calm and he was honestly okay with it.

His eyes landed on the soul mark on his wrist before he put on his old trusty wrist watch.

30 years and not even once did he meet his soulmate.
At one point, he was even married to someone else.

Both of them had never met their soulmates and had given up. They fell in love through shared interest with coffee and books and promise to never part.

That's until his ex husband met his soulmate in his work.
Izuku understands.

Really he does.

Growing up being told that your soulmate is your other half. Better half.

The answer to your every prayer.

So when his ex husband told him about it one night, Izuku thanked him for having the courage to even tell him and not just leave.
Closing the shop, Izuku looked at the dark sky. Taking a deep breath, he quickly grabbed his umbrella, opening it.

The moment he had the umbrella over his head the rain pour.

Izuku smiled. He might be as mediocre as people could be but one thing he was proud of was his —
— ability to smell the change in the weather and season. Taste it in his tongue and know the difference.

His apartment was luckily just a station away but he liked the walk from the shop to his place.

Passing through the shopping district which has the biggest mall.
It had been three years since the divorce. Him and his ex husband were surprisingly still friends.

But that doesn't mean he didn't cry his heart and eyes out at his lost.

The heavens must hate him.

Izuku stopped to look at the newly posted gigantic ad in front of the mall.
It was a photo of a blond man, red eyes, one hand raking his hair out. He was topless in the ad showing his well sculpted body out for the whole shopping district to see. His pants was hanging low, the button and zipper down, showing the brand of his underwear.
But what caught his attention was the soul mark laid beautifully against his vline.

In his surprise, he let go of his umbrella, eyes looking at the soul mark on the guy. His gaze travelled to his red piercing gaze.

His heart pounded against his chest
Izuku swallowed hard, he grabbed his umbrella and started running away.

Holy crap. He was shaking, his chest was tight but his legs kept running to the safety of his home.

Once he got inside, he slammed the door closed, leaning on it, his knees finally giving in.
He removed his wristwatch, frantic, throat tight. In his hurry, the strap snapped but he was too out of it to even care.

The moment, he saw his own soul mark, his tears fell down.

What the hell?

What the hell?

The heavens must have really hate him.
He finally found his soulmate.

The only problem was they are literally worlds apart. So what's the use of knowing who this guy is.

Izuku is sure the last thing those red eyes would like to look at would be his pathetic ass.

Sighing, he looked at his broken watch.
Once he changed clothes and brew himself a cup of coffee, he pulled his laptop and search for the guy.

He quickly found him.

Bakugo Katsuki.

He was apparently more of a business man than a model and the only modelling gig he had was that underwear ad.

Izuku smiled small.
He was right they are worlds apart. Scrolling to his instagram page, the guy lives simple yet you know how rich he really was. His tastes was impeccable and extremely expensive.

The blond was also referred to as a lone wolf in a way that no one was ever seen with him.
Izuku click his wikipedia.

"Huuuh?!" He choked on his coffee when he saw that the guy was only 23.

Twenty three.

The greenette slammed his laptop close, groaning to himself.

Handsome, rich, famous, and young.

His soulmate was apparently out of his league in every sense.
Izuku closed his eyes. There's just no way that the two of them will cross paths anyway.

His phone beeped.

Todoroki Shouto
[ Izuku, do you have anything to do this saturday? ]

He could pretend to look at his calendar to see if he's free but he knew he has a boring life.
[ i don't have anything 😊 why? ]

Todoroki Shouto
[ Remember your favorite painter? He has an exhibit on going. I got you a ticket. ]

[ Oh, that's nice of you. Thank you. ]

His phone ring.

"Izuku," Shouto sighed.

"What?" He chuckled awkwardly.
"It's your birthday on Saturday." He could hear Shouto shaking his head in disbelief.

Izuku looked at the calendar. It was his birthday.

"I actually forgot." He laughed.

"Me and Momo can't come with you but hopefully you'll like the exhibit." Izuku's smile fell.
"That's more than enough." Izuku raked his green curls. "You two don't have to accompany me. Really."

They started talking about things until Shouto bid farewell.

It has been three years sometimes he wish him and Shouto had cut everything off.
He slept shallow that night and went go the shop earlier in a desperate attempt to forget about his failed marriage and now his soulmate.

Izuku was fixing his watch when the door opened, its small bell in the corner chiming.

"Welco—,” he halted seeing the one who entered.
The guy was clad in a designer suit, raking his blond hair, his shoes clacking against the wooden floor.

Izuku was tempted to hide but only ended with an awkward smile.

"W-what can I help you with?" Green eyes meeting red ones.

"I am looking for a piece."
His voice was deep making shiver ran down his spine.

"W-what piece?" Izuku wanted to smack himself.

"Here," the guy pulled out his phone which Izuku accepted after he discreetly wipe the sweat off his palms.

Reaching for the phone, the blond suddenly grabbed his wrist.
Izuku tried to pull his hand away but the guy kept it in place, he then twisted it to look at his soul mark.

Blood rush to Izuku's cheeks.

A smirk form on the guy's lips. Izuku bolted pulling his hand off his hold. He looked at the phone flustered.
"I have this one," Izuku excused himself, walking through racks upon racks of knick knacks till he found what the guy was looking for which was a single ceramic teacup with its saucer.

"I only have one though," he turned to look at the blond who followed him.
The younger guy didn't answer, he just kept his red eyes gazing at his green ones.

Izuku straighten up. "Are you getting it?" He asked, clearing his throat.

"Yeah." The guy answered. His voice was low, his eyes never strayed away.

"Okay," Izuku smiled.
The greenette was about to walk past him but the blond held his hand stopping him.

"I-is there anything else you need?" Izuku asked not looking at the guy.

"Name." Katsuki turned to look at him, making him look away. "What's your name."

Izuku pulled his hand away.
"Let me p-prepare this for you." The greenette quickly made his way to the counter where he grab a box and some wrapping paper.

"You didn't answer my question." The blond stopped in front of the counter.

Without looking at the guy, he pushed the teacup and saucer to him.
"Please d-do check the product before I wrap it up." Izuku kept his eyes on the ceramic pieces. "Who's this for?"

"It's for my girlfriend." Katsuki replied tentatively.

Izuku clenched his fists. He saw articles upon articles how this guy was single and the most wanted bachelor
"She likes shit like this." He added.

Izuku looked up to him with a smile. "She has a good taste."

Katsuki grabbed the teacup inspecting it. "She does." The blond agreed. He then dropped the ceramic piece to the floor, eyes not leaving Izuku's green ones.

It shattered, —
— pieces flying, skidding everywhere.

He also grab the saucer and let it go. Breaking it with the teacup.

Izuku wasn't able to say anything. He just looked at the guy in pure disbelief.

"Now, my turn." Katsuki paused. "What's your name?"
Izuku took a deep breath, "I don't think knowing my name would benefit you in anyway, Sir." His voice was tight. "You would also need to pay for that."

Katsuki narrowed his eyes.

The greenette left the counter and started picking the broken pieces. "Why waste such thing?"
"I'm sure she would like this gift." Izuku added, trying his best not to stutter.

"She wouldn't. Nothing is ever enough for her." Katsuki answered, not moving while Izuku continue go pick all the pieces.

He stood up and smiled to the blond, "I hope you both talk it through."
Izuku placed the broken pieces on top of the counter when he accidently cut himself. He let out a small whimper.

But before he could check it, Katsuki grab his hand. "It doesn't matter because we won't see each other anymore." He then placed Izuku's finger inside his mouth.
The older guy tried to pull his hand away but Katsuki just yanked him closer, his lips trailing to his soul mark on his wrist.

"I don't really buy the whole soulmate bullshit." His red eyes locked with Izuku's green ones. "But seeing my mark on you is definitely something."
The greenette felt his jaw clenched.

All his life he had waited for his soulmate while looking at his mark. He had imagined various scenarios on how they will meet on what the person who's met to be his perfect half be.

He prayed that he's the same nerd as he was.
He was sure that his soulmate was someone he hope he was.

But now that he was looking at those cruel intense eyes.

The heavens really hated his guts.

Pulling his hand away.

"That would be 210k yen," he smiled pulling a receipt under the counter.
Katsuki laughed pulling his card off his wallet, he handed it over to Izuku who accepted it, quietly punching through the register.

"It's nice doing business with you," Izuku smiled handing the card over.

The blond took the card back, placing it back to his wallet.
"Visit us again." Izuku bowed down as Katsuki turned to leave.

He reached for the door, opening it. Looking over his shoulder. "Oh I will."

He stepped out of the shop but before the door closed, his voice echoed all over the shop, down to his bones.

"Midoriya Izuku."
Izuku's knees nearly gave in.

How... How in the world did he know his name. He frantically check his station for anything that gave away his name but there was none.

His eyes landed on his cut. He blushed upon recalling the the way the blond's tongue licked it.
Izuku went home for the first time he took the metro yet he was able to still see the huge advertisement that Katsuki had on the mall.

"Oh god, Bakugo Katsuki is hot!" He heard teens giggling next to him. "Have you seen that soul mark?"

Izuku instantly covered his wrist.
"Whoever his soulmate is must be so lucky!!" The other squealed. "Imagine that guy of caliber is proud of his soul mark."

Izuku quickly stood up and left the moment his station was announced, pushing every thought of Bakugo Katsuki out.

He barely slept the night.
For the upcoming days he was on the edge. Nearly jumping whenever someone enter his shop.

"You okay?" Shouto asked him when he went to meet him on Friday afternoon.

"Yeah, I am fine. Don't worry." The guy then shrugged handing him the ticket.
"Did you hurt yourself?" Shouto asked pointing the bandage on Izuku's wrist. The two of them agreed to never look at each others soul mark.

To Izuku's surprise they made it through. They never saw each other's mark even when they went through the divorce.

"Yeah."
"You should be careful." The guy sighed. "I got to go, I still need to get Momo."

"Sure, thank you for this, Shouto." Izuku smiled. The guy just ruffled his hair. He then placed shopping bags on the counter.

"That's Momo's gift. Something to wear at the exhibit."
"Give her my thanks." With that, Shouto left, leaving him alone.

He closed the shop earlier, thinking if he will eat in his favorite restaurant to celebrate early but decided to just stay home and research about the whole exhibit.
In the morning he visited his mother's grave giving her favorite flowers. To Izuku's surprise there was a fresh flower there already and a lighted incense.

Deciding not to dwell on it, he just greeted his mom. Thanking her for his life.
At lunch Izuku ate at his favorite restaurant ordering his favorite katsudon. But when he was about to pay the bill the waiter just smile telling him, "It's on the house, Sir."

"Huh?"

Izuku didn't know how to react and was pretty surprise by what happened.
Three hours prior the exhibit, Izuku went to the biggest book store planning to splurge on new novels.

And when he paid, the cashier smiled, "Congratulations, you qualified for our promo. You don't have to pay anything."

"Oh." Izuku blinked. "Okay."
Guess the universe decided to give him a break on his

"Thank you." He shyly said.

"Congratulations." The cashier smiled.

Izuku smiled checking his purchase before leaving for the exhibit.

When he got in the place it was one of the newest events place.
He gave his ticket to the ticketing officer who greeted him.

Opening the door, Izuku expected a surge of people knowing how his favorite painter was one of the most famous yet the place was empty. The hall was filled with nothing but music and huge paintings.
In panic, Izuku quickly went to one of the staff asking if he got the wrong exhibit. It was ridiculous of course as he recognized those paintings easily.

"This is the right exhibit, Sir." The staff smiled.

"Then why is it empty?" He didn't mean to ask that loudly.
The staff just smiled.

"Am I early?" Izuku inquired.

The guy shook his head. "You're right on time." Another staff came handing Izuku a glass of champagne.

The greenette accepted the champagne walking away deciding to enjoy being alone, staring, admiring the paintings.
He took his time staring and reading at each detail of the painting. To his surprise he was relaxed all through out the time he roam the exhibit.

Maybe because no one's there and he could geek out on his own at every small detail he saw.
Solitude has a charm. Being by yourself doesn't really mean you are sad.

Sometimes you find peace in it.

Or maybe he was too use to being all by himself.

The last part of the exhibit is on a different hall which Izuku happily went to.
To his surprise, there was only one painting in the room. And it wasn't big as he expected for it to warrant its own room.

When he got in front of the painting, Izuku froze.

It was him.

The painting was him.

And it was him when he got married to Shouto five years ago.
He looked so happy, smiling with his white suit on and a stupid flower on his ear. He was holding a bouquet of flower close to his face.

"I like how you look at this painting." Izuku turn to the voice that came next to him.

Katsuki stood next to him, eyes on the painting.
He was calmly taking a sip from his glass of wine.

"I commissioned this the day after..." The blond turned to him. "The day you gave up on me."

Izuku froze.

The blond looked away, staring at the painting.

"I've waited for you my whole life." His voice was tight.
Katsuki shook his head lightly, chuckling to himself. "It doesn't matter." A pause. "None of it matter."

Izuku looked away, his green eyes stared unknowingly to his wrist.

They bath in silence.

Turning away, Katsuki left without a word just his echoing footsteps.
Izuku was left stewing in questions.

Five years ago, Izuku was twenty four. Back then Katsuki would have been seventeen.

He tried so hard to recall every moment in his life when he met the blond but he couldn't think of anything.

Not a single bit.
Sighing he walked out of the room, handling the empty glass to the staff. He darted towards the exit where he was greeted by another staff who smiled at him handing him a huge paper bag which contained a hard box.

"I hope you enjoyed the exhibit, Sir. Have a great night."
"I did, thank you. By the way what's this for?" He asked accepting the paper bag.

"A complimentary gift for attending the exhibit." The guy answered tentatively.

Thanking the guy one last time, Izuku left the place. With Katsuki's words in his head.
When he was outside, he saw Katsuki leaning against his orange 2021 Dodge Challenger, waiting.

He was wearing a black suit.

Izuku walked to him, taking a deep breath, "What do you mean when you said you have waited for me your whole life?"

Green eyes stared back at red ones.
Katsuki opened the door of the car. "Get in."

Izuku look at the car then back to Katsuki. "I am not getting in your car. Answer my question."

"Get inside, Izuku." Katsuki repeated, his brows furrowing.

The greenette didn't answer.

"You want answers? Get the fuck inside."
Izuku didn't move, he kept his gaze steady at the younger guy. No, he's keeping his ground. He won't get dragged anywhere he doesn't want to be in.

Katsuki chuckled, walking to him, he leaned down to him. It's unfair how the younger guy stood at least 5 inches taller than him.
"Don't worry I won't eat you." The blond smirk. "Unless you begged me to."

Izuku fought to keep his expression blank. To look as an unamused as possible even when he had to clench his jaws hard that his teeth might crack.

"Answer the question." He almost rasp.
Katsuki turned away, he slammed the door close as he darted his way to the driver side. Opening the door, he slid inside and started the car.

Izuku swallowed, he then reached for the door opening it. Stepping inside without a word, putting the seatbelt on.
Once Izuku was settled, Katsuki stepped on the gas, driving away.

"Now, answer the question." Izuku inhaled, gripping the seatbelt.

"It's that same old stupid shit. When I was a child I asked my parents what's the mark on my body meant. And they told me about soulmates."
"And when you are a kid it was something you hold dearly to like when we use to believe about tooth fairies and stupid santa claus. Since then I have been waiting for my soulmate." Katsuki added.

The greenette frowned at the answer as he turn to face the guy.
"So imagine my surprise when I finally met you. Back when you were buying novels your soul mark was out and you were talking to the cashier happily about getting married tomorrow." Katsuki increased the speed, Izuku held tightly on his seat belt.
Silence.

"I'm..." Izuku swallowed.

He hurt him. There was just no other way to put that. Whether he meant it or not, he hurt him by making him think that he didn't want him as his soulmate.

But... Izuku waited. He had waited long watching people meet their soulmates.
For a long time before him and Shouto decided to defy their fates, he waited for his other half. Wondering through the sea of faces to who his soulmate is.

"I'm sorry." He swallowed all the words he long to say but chose to ignore.

Katsuki chuckled.
"I don't fucking want your sorry." Katsuki said.

Izuku felt the corners of his eyes sting.

"Don't worry," The blond's voice was low, devoid of emotions. "I threw my heart away five years ago. You can't hurt me anymore."
The car took a turn, driving down a basement parking. Izuku didn't say anything.

He couldn't say anything..

What was there to say? Anything that he'll tell the younger guy will sound nothing but a stupid excuse.

The car parked at basement four.

Katsuki turned to him.
Izuku almost backed away when he felt Katsuki's fingers brushing his tears away. "Don't fucking cry." He whispered, leaning closer. "I'll take you back."

The greenette hiccupped uncontrollably.

"I'll take you back, care for you, do everything and anything for you."
He was scared yet his heart was flooded with nothing but guilt that was enough to drown him.

The blond kissed his tears away gently. "I'll even love you if I have to." Katsuki cupped his face. "Izuku, this time, I'll be everything you need. I'll be the only one you need."
Izuku gasped so lightly at the feel of Katsuki's lips grazing his. The blond pulled him on a kiss. Taking his lips, guiding it to its pace and rhythm, red eyes watching his glazed orbs.

"After all, I am your soulmate." Katsuki whispered ghosting his throbbing lips.
"I am and I will be the only one perfect for you, baby." He added, pulling his wrist kissing his soul mark.

"You are born for me after all." He looked up to him. Izuku continued sobbing. "The unknown god, gave you to me. You are mine. Mine to keep. Mine to care for."
Katsuki pulled away opening the car door, leaving Izuku in shock and breathless on his seat.

The blond opened his door, unclasping his seat belt, helping him to get out of his expensive muscle car.

Izuku doesn't know what was happening all he could feel was Katsuki's hand —
— pulling him to the elevator. The next thing he knew he was inside a luxurious penthouse overlooking the whole city below.

Izuku stood by the glass wall not knowing what to feel or what to think as he hugged himself trying to find comfort in it.
Katsuki wrapped his arms around him, kissing his neck, sucking his skin.

"Happy birthday, love." He whispered to his ear. "Tell me what you want." He kissed his temple long and almost adoring.

"Thank you." Izuku answered keeping his eyes to the sky.
"I don't think I want anything." Izuku added. He turned to look at the blond. "I want to go home."

Katsuki didn't answer rather he just kiss him, deep, a little too intense than what Izuku was used to but then it had been years.

The blond pushed him against the glass.
"You're so fucking funny. You just told me you don't want anything and now you want to go home." Katsuki rasped against his lips. He started undressing Izuku as the guy tried to stop him.

"Shh, it will be fine," the blond whispered. "We're soulmates after all."
The blond kissed him again until he was moaning against his mouth.

"Can w-we not do it here?" Izuku stuttered, breathing heavily from the lack of air.

"It's fine." Katsuki whispered kissing him again. "Let them all see that you are mine. And you'll only be mine."
Izuku protested but Katsuki just kept reassuring him that it's fine that no one will see.

The next thing he knew the guy was thrusting in and out of him while he was pressed against the glass, the city blurry in his eyes from the tears that flowed down his cheeks.
Katsuki gripped his hair, pulling it backwards making him cry in pain while his other hand grip his waist tight. He was slamming hard in him.

Izuku whimpered.

"See? It wasn't so bad right? You are doing so well. You make me feel so good." Katsuki whispered against his ears.
"Izuku," he gasped in his ears. "You're really the one for me." He let go of his hair cupping his face to make him look at him. "Our bodies just fit so fucking well together." He bit down his shoulder hard.

His hand travelled down to his throat. "Tell me you're mine."
.
.
.
.

The greenette woke up alone on the bed. He stood up, grabbing the neatly folded clothes at the end of the bed.

His body hurts like hell. He must be really getting old.

While getting dressed, he remembered the moment he faced Katsuki.

To his surprise, he was crying.
His tears rolled down his cheeks to his jaw, he was gripping his cheeks tight while he tell him, "This time I am going to be more than enough for you."

Izuku closed his eyes briefly, sighing.

"This time you won't just set me aside." He could almost hear him say those words.
Fixing himself he grabbed his things and left without looking back nor trying to find where the blond was.

He was in the rich part of the city which meant it was several stations away from his place.

Once he got into the metro, he sat on the empty seat.
The guy next to him was watching the news on his phone.

"One of this country's most wanted bachelor, Bakugo Katsuki, who owned the biggest electronic company in the world, announced his engagement today." The news anchor said.

Izuku felt his inside froze.
"The corporate mogul is set to marry the heir of Akaibara Group of Companies, Utsushimi Camie. There is still no confirm date for the wedding but both family express their delight and support."

Izuku felt his skin tightened. His everything numbed in seconds.
/You are mine./

Izuku went through the whole ride with his chest tight, his heart hammering oh so painful against his chest.

/Mine to care for./

A small smile settled on his lips as his tears rolled down his cheeks silently.

/Mine to keep./

The god unknown hates him.
He doesn't know how he got home but somehow he did. The moment his door closed and he was in the safety of his home, hidden from the rest of the world, he crouched down hugging his knees.

/It doesn't matter. None of it matter./

Izuku cried. Cried like he never did before.
He wanted to curse fate. He wanted to scream at the gods. He wanted to move the heavens and raise hell.

Was this his fault? Was it so wrong that he tried to defy fate in order to finally, FINALLY, be happy?

Izuku growled, crying hard on the floor, clutching his chest.
[ cw : self harm ]

.
.
.

Soulmate is nothing but bullshit. When he was growing up people kept telling him how happiness awaits for him once he finds his soulmate.

None of it was true all his soul mark brought him was pain.

Mad, he started clawing his soul mark.
His nails digging on his skin as he tried to erase it. Tried to free himself of it. Tried to finally pull the chains the damn mark had wrapped around him.

He clawed until he was bleeding, until he started to feel something. Until his skin hum with volts of pain.
Izuku gazed at his bleeding wrist.

He felt alive. He felt liberated.

Finally, he was free.

The greenette stood up only to knock the box he received from the exhibit. The leather covered hard box slid off the bag.

Picking it up, he opened the box.
It was an expensive french coffee press. With an envelope inside. He opened it. Inside was a plane ticket and a letter.

[ Deku,
I called you that for so long i can't even remember. My first memory of you was you smiling beautifully because you're getting married. —
— I know I should be hurt about it. You see I hated the whole soulmate idea. I think it's stupid and full of shit but secretly i was waiting for you. To meet you.

I didn't even know it was possible to fall in love and break your heart at the same time. But that's what you did —
— that's what you made me feel. I feel stupid actually.

So, I got some information and sneak in into your wedding. I could have screamed right there and then that I was your soulmate. That you are meant to be with me and not that fucking half and half but you look so happy —
— so damn happy and I couldn't bring myself to tell you that I am your soulmate. I couldn't do it to you.

So on the day you gave me up, I let you go.

People kept telling us while growing up that our soulmates are the perfect people for us. That they will be the one for us. —
— but then, I realized that maybe for the two of us that wasn't the case at all.

After you got married, I accepted my parents offer to study overseas because I know I'd never stop following you, looking for you.

Funny shit, I never stop thinking of you either. —
When I heard you got divorce, I quickly flew back to Japan. But never had the fucking courage to talk to you. Never really knew what to do.

I must have done serious stupid shit. You make me do stupid shit most of the time.

What I am trying to fucking say is that —
— despite everything, I am happy that you are my soulmate.

Guess people were right. Your soulmate is the one perfect for you.

And you are.

Happy Birthday.

— Katsuki ]

Izuku cried, his eyes looked at the ticket it was a flight ticket to Bali. There was a note.
[ Heard you always wanted to visit Bali. ]

Izuku was confuse. He couldn't connect the Katsuki in this letter to the one he spent a night with to the one who just announced his marriage.

Wiping his tears, he placed back the letters to the box and hid the whole thing.
What was he trying to achieve?

What was he trying to say?

Izuku doesn't understand anything. Stripping off his clothes, he went to bath and stayed for as long as he wanted there.

Not thinking of anything. Just bathing in silence. Numbed.
Days passed without Izuku noticing it. He was at the convenience store buying his lunch for the day when he saw a magazine cover of Katsuki.

He was wearing a white shirt, navy suit, his shirt was opened three buttons down, he was holding a bottle of wine, sitting on the tub.
He was looking at the camera, red eyes staring with such fierceness.

It was this month's GQ issue entitled, 'Here Comes the Groom'. The subtitle was 'Bakugo Katsuki on getting engage and sood to be married'.

Izuku walked to the counter purchasing the magazine with his lunch.
He walked back to the shop with his lunch and new magazine.

Izuku ate slow while flipping through the magazine looking at Katsuki's pictures, reading his interviews.

He stopped at one photo which was a photo of the blond without a shirt on that classic denim.
His soul mark was shown, perfectly laid out in his vline.

Q: Your soul mark is in such intimate area of your body.

K : people always tell me that shit whenever they find out where it is.

Q : Are you ever embarrassed of it?

K : the f**k, no, it's mine.
Q : what's yours?

K : this soul mark is mine. That little shit is mine. Mine to care for. Mine to keep.

Izuku quickly closed the magazine, tossing it to the trash bin. Cursing himself for buying it in the first place.

The door opened, He stood up. "Welcome to—,”
Izuku closed his mouth at the sight of Katsuki walking inside his shop.

The greenette smiled. "What can I help you with?"

The blond stopped before the counter. "Come with me." He said without wasting a second.

"I'm sorry, Sir, if you don't need anything you can leave."
"Fine, I would like to buy something." Katsuki said.

"What do you have in mind?"

"You." Katsuki smirked "I want one night of your life, how much would that be?"

Izuku chuckled. This guy is insane. This guy is just full of shit.

"I don't think you'll be able to afford me."
What else does he want from him? He came into his life like a fucking train just crashing to. He was the epitome of confusion.

He pursued him. Caught him off guard. Made love to him like he meant it. Drop him. Got engage to someone. And now he just walk in like nothing happened.
"Fucking try me." Katsuki challenged.

Izuku smiled brightly. "Everything you have." The innocent smile turned to a calculated one, "I want everything you have."

He knew the guy won't ever say yes to something ridiculous. No one is stupid enough to agree to that.
The blond cupped his face, pulling him on a kiss. Izuku didn't even protest rather he allowed him to kiss him. He parted his lips to let him dip his tongue in. He welcomed the assault with the same intensity.

Katsuki pulled away, "Deal," he whispered against his parted lips.
Izuku pushed him away, wiping his lips with the back of his hand.

"Get out." He said turning away not wanting to see the guy anymore.

"I told you I will give you everything." Katsuki said. "I will do anything."

The greenette turned to him, "Get out!"
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Izuku screamed. "What do you want from me?"

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" Katsuki chuckled. "You're really asking me that?"

Izuku's jaw clenched. "Get out. I don't want to see you ever again."

"You did this to me." Katsuki whispered.
The greenette swallowed hard.

"And you are asking me what the fuck is wrong with me?" He looked at Izuku, pupils dilated. "I don't fucking know what is wrong with me. What the fuck did you do to me?"

"I—,” Izuku backed off, hitting the wall. "I didn't do anything to you..."
Katsuki nodded, "Okay. Maybe it's just me. This whole fucking soulmate shit getting into my head."

Izuku clenched his fist tight, "Let's just forget each other. You're engage, you are getting married there's no sense in dwelling on what we are."
That's right he needed to regain control of the situation.

"That's right we are never new to this whole thing. We are just two strangers who unfortunately shared a stupidly similar mark." Katsuki answered turning away.

/You are born for me./
"This has always been so fucking easy to you." Katsuki added.

This asshole. Why was he putting all of it on him?

"What do you want me to do? You are engage to someone!" Izuku snapped.

Katsuki whipped to look at him. "Does that matter?! We are fucking soulmates!"
Izuku's eyes widened. "You... You want me to be with you even if you are with someone?"

Katsuki marched to him. "What is wrong with that? We are soulmates! We are meant to be together. We are perfect for each other. We are literally made for one another."

"You're insane."
"Can't you see how wrong that is?" Izuku added.

Katsuki reached for his hand. "Look, don't think about anything else."

"How can I not think of anything else?"

"BECAUSE IT'S BETWEEN THE TWO OF US!" izuku flinched at his booming voice. "It's not about anyone else."
"Listen," Katsuki took a deep breath. "Yes I am engage, yes, she's my fiancee, but you you're different. It's fucking different. You know that too right?"

"You're insane. This is insane."

"It's not." The blond shook his head. "There's nothing wrong with us being together."
"No one would even question it." Katsuki chuckled. "We're soulmates after all."

Izuku froze.

His eyes went on his bandaged wrist. That's where everything went wrong.

Soulmates.

Crazy how Katsuki was right. No one would question it. Everyone would just nod, understanding.
When Shouto asked him for a divorce he understood because he found his soulmate.

When Shouto got married a month after the divorce no one batted their lashes. No one questioned it.

/Well, they're soulmates./

/Ah, it's because they're soulmates./

No one took his side.
No one ever told him that he didn't deserve to be left. Because as stupid as it was, he also felt like he deserve to be left because he was not Shouto's soulmate.

The two of them just tried to defy fate. Too young, too dumb. Believing that they could stay together despite —
— the different mark on their bodies.

What have the gods done?

What were they trying to do with the whole thing?

Giving a curse to humans called blessing.

"You're right," Izuku smiled at Katsuki. "We are soulmates after all."
The blond reached for him, pressing his forehead against Izuku's. "Yes, we are supposed to be together."

Izuku didn't answer.

"Close your shop, let's leave." Katsuki said. Izuku nodded as he fix everything while katsuki waited outside.

Before he left, he looked at his mark.
His eyes burned with determination.

For the first time, Izuku felt alive. He felt the fire in him burn so fiercely. So bright.

Locking the store, he sighed before walking to get into Katsuki's car. The moment he's inside, Izuku felt everything clicked.
The days filtered through. And in snap him and Katsuki had been seeing each other for three months while the wedding was set to happen in just a week.

They were eating together in a restaurant which was very private.

"You've been quiet." Katsuki asked.

"Am I?"
"Yeah," Katsuki wiped his lips with his table napkin. "Is something wrong?"

Izuku placed down his silverware. He didn't answer.

The blond sighed, "Is this about the wedding?"

Izuku reached for his glass, swirling the red wine in it.

Katsuki reached for water. "Izuku."
"Hmm?" Izuku took sips from his wine.

"I explained the whole thing to you already." The blond said.

A wedding of convenience. An order he couldn't defy from their family head. A contract that had been signed for over a decade.

Izuku smiled.
"It's not that." Izuku said, finishing his wine. The greenette stood up he grabbed his glass and Katsuki's empty one.

He then went to pour more wine from the reserved ones on the side. He then gave Katsuki his wine and proposed a toast.

"Do you like me?" The greenette asked.
Izuku was standing next to Katsuki, playing with his drink.

"Why are you asking me that?" Katsuki drank the wine. "You know how I feel about you."

Izuku nodded, "Ah, because I am your soulmate?"

Katsuki didn't answer rather he finished his wine.
"Yes, you are my soulmate." Katsuki said placing down his empty glass. Izuku placed down his wine not even drinking it.

"Too bad." Izuku said, voice void of emotions. He reached for the steak knife on the table.

Katsuki leaned his forehead on his palm, elbow propped up.
The blond closed his eyes tightly, opening it again.

Izuku settled on the armrest of Katsuki's seat.

"What do you mean?" Katsuki asked, staring at the guy.

The greenette rolled up his sleeve showing his soul mark. Without a word he slashed through it. Blood bloomed.
"You see, I am not your soulmate, Bakugo Katsuki." He stood up, placing the steak knife down. Katsuki tried to move but everything spun.

"I am not your soulmate. I am just Midoriya Izuku." The guy walked away from the room, his arm bleeding. Droplets of blood trailed behind him
A smile etched his lips as he walked out of the establishment. He held a cab, and patched himself inside.

He went straight to the airport where Shouto and Momo were waiting to give his things.

"Do you really have to leave?" Shouto asked.

Izuku smiled.
Izuku remembered the first time he clawed his mark. Trying to remove it.

This is freedom.

"Yes, I am tired following the whim of a god unknown." He grabbed his things. Thanking the husband and wife as he bid them farewell.

Too bad the papers took three months to fix.
When he was about to board, he pulled things off his bag and an envelope fell.

Izuku picked it up placing it back inside his bag carefully, as he gave his boarding pass. The staff welcomed him to the flight and he smiled.

Maybe this time, he'll really be able to let go.

Izuku was sitting on a cafe, taking sips off his mango shake while running through his manuscripts.

He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose when someone sat down in front of him..

Opening his eyes he was welcomed by the sight of a familiar blond hair this time only shorter.
"You look cute, I can't help but ask your name." Katsuki smiled.

Izuku chuckled. Cheek leaning on his palm, wrist showing his marred soul mark.

"I am not the one you are looking for." Izuku said.

Katsuki lifted his shirt a little showing his marred soul mark.
"I don't know what you are talking about but I am Bakugo Katsuki." He offered his hand.

Izuku laughed accepting it.

"Midoriya Izuku. Nice to meet you."

Katsuki smiled. "Yeah, nice to finally meet you."
• izuku took three months fixing his papers to move and sell the shop

• katsuki said 'nice to finally meet you' because this time he was just meeting izuku for izuku and not because he was his soulmate.

• katsuki was just fucked about the whole soulmate idea.
