CW: Piracy, Swearing
Ok I'm fucking pissed. The idea of piracy begins with us and with the idea that the games are too costly for what they offer. I'm looking at you [BRAND] game with 3 "basic books" who each cost more than they should.

Hell if you can't afford my game ask me, I'll 99% give it for free. But buying stuff supports people. SPECIALLY if those people are small developers.
One thing is saying: I'm not paying a [BRAND] company lol! Whatever you say it's still wrong, there were small freelancers on that

But doing that to an one man team (ok not me, just someone I know and think they are awesome!)?
That's basically forcing them to stop doing it, as always SUPPORT matters a lot. So does a COMMUNITY. By having a community of people who support developers? We can do our jobs!

And it's not just games, it's all the things we do to make games that you don't see. It's hours spent on research, money that goes to editors, sensibility readers, writers, illustrators, layout artists, graphical designers... etc.
But most importantly it's about the money that's taken from our food fund (yes 'course I'll be pissy about food). While big companies might have revenue, smaller devs and houses basically pay their daily bread with this.
That is why piracy hurts.

It's not that it's removing from the industry, but the logic that those 15€ could have been a weeek's worth of food for me? But now due to someone's "lol" moment we have to forget 10-20 sales? That's a LOT of food for me folx.
So please. Talk to everyone you know.

Educate them why piracy is bad. Not only the act but what it does to small people. Talk to them about the fact that most of us already place lower prices on our work to be competitive, that we kind of cannot require a higher price due to corporations already.
Talk, and let's make it normal to buy a game. Even if we don't plan on playing it. Why? If you have some extra cash support the industry. Buy a new game from an unknown publisher. You might like the game in the end, even if you don't? You're making the industry better...
... by allowing a bigger poll of games and ideas to circulate!
(Bloody twitter character limit!)
TL;DR:
Talk about stopping piracy, support indie games!
