i think we are supposed to believe her birthday is June 15, 2000 which would have made her 18 (and Liam 24) when they were first romantically linked in August 2018.

here are some sources claiming this to be her birthday
now this birthday makes no sense because maya’s brother (yes born to the same exact parents) was born December 2, 1999 (all sources agree!). this would make her brother six months older than her. need i remind you that this isn’t medically possible.
this also rules out the December 15, 1999 birthday we’ve also been given for maya because then she would be less than two weeks younger than her brother. again, not medically possible.
the third birthdate we have on record is February 12, 2001. i believe this to be her actual birthday. it also used to be her birthday according to famous birthdays but i can’t find the screenshot right now. pls lmk if you have it.
this birthday aligns with her quinceñera being in early 2016 when she would’ve been turning 15.
remember these sources?? they’re the same article. directly on top of one another. clearly it was edited in her profile but not within the actual text of the article which is suspicious on its own.
now if her birthday is February 12, 2001 she would’ve been 17 while Liam was 24 in August 2018 at the time they were first linked. this would’ve been clear motivation to change her birthday on public records but there’s a reason you see Feb 12th so often.
also, i’ve had a bunch of people tell me she was born December 15, 2000 however i can’t find a single source to back that up. and even if that was the case, she still would only have been 17 in August 2018.
it’s quite clear to me that her age has been changed to make the fake relationship more believable and not accidentally paint Li as a predator. prior to the stunt there wasn’t a reason to change her age so everyone agreed she was born February 12, 2001.
essentially, she is 19 and turns 20 tomorrow(/today depending on time zone). if you want to talk more about this lmk but here’s the basics!
