Thread on OFC vs KBFC

The worst match I've ever seen in ISL-7 from both teams. It was more than a boring game with more possession based football. If your team can't win a game against a bottom rocked team, then we can't blame our luck. Now OFC thrashed playoff hopes of KBFC
Now its 3 teams who have been knocked out of playoffs contention : OFC, KBFC and CFC. With 18 points dropped from winning position, KBFC can't blame referees and luck anymore. Its all because of this backline that cost us 18 points. KBFC should think seriously on this for ISL-8.
1) As OFC coach Peyton said before match, they went for 4-4-2 formation with Mauricio and Inman in the front line. Meanwhile KBFC again sticked with 4-4-1-1 formation with Murray as lone striker and Hooper as SS. For me individually, KBFC should've gone for 4-2-3-1 than 4-4-1-1..
..as it would've given a solid backline with 6 players. More than that it would've given more opportunity to attack as well. Kibu should seriously think of formation change at least for these last 3 games. You cannot stick with this formation again n again.
2) KBFC almost were in commanding position till 40' of the game. They got some solid chances. KBFC would've gone 1-0 up from a missed pass from Arshdeep that went to Hooper who passed it to Juande who took the shot with such a power that the ball flied from Fatorda to Bambolim.
3) Before the stroke of half time, OFC fired the bullet against KBFC. It was a complete failure of the defense who gave enough space to Mauricio who capitalized on the opportunity and scored. And the words again proved to be correct "Less touches, More goals". HT OFC 1 - 0 KBFC.
4) KBFC were in fire in 2nd half. They forgot about the defense and broke OFC defense into pieces with those two goals from Murray-Hooper combo. The man in the 2nd half was Hooper. He solidly cut the OFC defense and gave ball to Murray who took the shot that gave KBFC a lifeline.
5) Hooper himself put his name on the score sheet with help of Sahal. Sahal gave the ball to Hooper outside the box who ran through OFC backline and scored. Now KBFC got the lead and were happy. But that happiness lasted only for a paltry 6 mins. as Mauricio dashed hopes of KBFC.
6) Again a complete failure of KBFC defense and Mauricio, like a lion, pounced on the opportunity and snatched the game away from Blasters. When a man solidly ran through a defense, we can understand what it means. This pathetic defending cost kbfc valuable 2 pts and the match.
7) All hopes of KBFC are dashed for the 3rd consecutive season. But Kibu's stats shows that every odd season, he lifts at least a trophy. This is his 4th season as manager and next is his 5th. So we can hope that he can lift us to glory....
I m extremely happy with the contract extension of Sandeep. He is a true gem. Within 2-3 yrs, KBFC will be as strong as MCFC and ATKMB, no doubt. But for that we need quality backline and good attack. Hooper, Murray, Kone, Vicente and Facundo are almost assured for nxt season.
We need one CB, one CST and one AMD (all foreigners). Quality backline, Set Midfield and Rocking attack wins you games. Like HFC have done, we should also think for next season from now on. Hope our SD thinks about it and start appropriate things for nxt season
