What I find so interesting about the podcasting industry now is it was a space for everyday people without platforms to build them and gain followings. Now celebrities that already have platforms are saturating the space and pushing out smaller developing platforms.

We know that it’s a numbers game with companies. They will compare your podcast numbers as someone starting with a few thousand followers on social media to a celebrity’s with 100 - 200k+ following already and tell you that your listening numbers aren’t what “they’d hoped”.

The space has turned from something that was growing the careers of talented people to a space for celebrities to come and grow already colossal followings and I can see why people are getting frustrated.
