In my stepdaughter's English class today - here in Montreal - the teacher decided to talk about how much she hated these "savages" who still do hunting. One of the kids recorded it. I have a copy. 'Savage' is the old racist French word for Natives. @EnglishMTL 1
My wife is meeting with the principal next week. She talked to the vice principal, who didn't see the problem with it, though they also didn't understand the problem with the N-Word, or drawing pictures of Asian classmates with slanted lines for eyes. 2
I guess the question I have for @EnglishMTL is if they want to take this one seriously, or if they'd prefer to deal with it through the press, if we have to put out the recording. Really not impressed so far. 3
