There's a hole in my heart. My dad died on February 3, 2021 after battling COVID-19. I miss him so much.
My dad always knew how to give just the right advice. He loved his family. He grilled the best steak and made the best pancakes. My dad taught me how to tie a tie.
He let us listen to Britney Spears in the car when he drove me to junior high, even though he probably wanted to listen to something else, and he never made me feel bad about it. He read every article I wrote and he's the reason I became a reporter.
My dad taught me to believe in myself and not be afraid to fail or do things that were scary. He's where I get my sense of humor. He taught me about sacrifice, leadership, and service. He's my role model and hero.
