Wait. This is a very key question from @kelly2277 and @PaulBowes17: Congressional rep Madison Cawthorn said he was armed during the Jan. 6 terror attack. Other reps stated they would be carrying firearms.

*Did any of them offer to defend their colleagues during the attack?* ๐Ÿง
House Republicans wrote the leadership *five days before the attack* asking for the right to carry firearms onto the floor of Congress.

One of their examples in support? A 1954 attack *by Puerto Ricans*. ๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ–• https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5dd46f3c75be4943e7acd50f/t/5fef3e8ba6a0ae63d6bf5c45/1609514649139/Final+1.1.21+Letter+Protect+Members+and+their+Second+Amendment+Rights.pdf
Who wanted firearms? The same people who *also didn't want you to know if they were packing heat.* The House Sedition Caucus.

Maybe they didn't want the other Congressional Reps to know their colleagues *could* defend them...if they so chose. ๐Ÿ˜
