Does... does Ted Cruz not know that a bunch of writers made that character up? https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/1359905219451183109
I mean, this ... this is haunting me. Disney didn't cancel her for playing a kick-ass woman, they *hired her* to play a kick-ass woman.
For @tedcruz version of events to be true, this has to have happened:
STAR WARS: Thanks for joining the show, Gina, what character are you thinking of playing?
GINA: I'm not a princess or damaged Jedi, I'm gonna play a kick-ass woman warrior.
STAR WARS: Well we can't stop you.
DISNEY: WTF? Why is Gina playing a kick-ass warrior woman?!
STAR WARS: She insisted, that's her character, we couldn't stop her.
DISNEY: Well we gotta cancel her because she's so bad-ass.

*That is the only logical interpretation of @tedcruz comment* . This is ... boggling.
Is @tedcruz arguing that there is a philosophically idealist aspect to the actor/role relationship, that the role is not a thing in and of itself or is ultimately unknowable without the perception of the actor? *what is going on here*?
