If you've noticed, a lot of pro-Prop. 22 drivers quoted in media stories (including ours) are those who work part-time or those who have retired from their day jobs and looking for things to do. https://twitter.com/saraashleyo/status/1359969324396650496
Compare that to those who oppose Prop. 22, who often drive full-time for Uber/Lyft (or at least used to do so before the pandemic).
It's an interesting contrast of visions.

For pro-Prop. 22 and Uber/Lyft, rideshare is not something that is a "full-time job." It's a way for folks to spend whatever free time they have to have some fun, while making money on the side.
But for those opposing Prop. 22, including some rideshare driver advocates, rideshare has become a full-time job and they want to be treated as those working a full-time job.
(You can think of 25 hours as "part-time," but also of note: A lot of Uber drivers also drive for Lyft and other rideshare platforms, so they may work 40 hours a week as a gig worker but only log 24 hours a week on Uber)
