Like, I know @avalonpenrose is doing a comedy persona in these videos. That persona is hilarious. I don't want to overthink it, but I also want so say that there are some themes in her performance in these videos that is incredibly compelling.
First, there's pitch perfect portrayal of anxiety about public speaking, and the vulnerability of trying to claim expertise in something, tenuous or not, is just so touching.
Second, it's hard to tell if this persona is speaking without fully understanding something, or has a full understanding, but is simply flustered in trying to share it from the aforementioned anxiety.
So, while I laugh, and laugh a lot, when I watch her do this videos, I am also touched by a very deep portrayal of a cycle of emotions. Like any comedy at its best, something deeper is being said about the human condition--and systems like the patriarchy that impact it.
