I am not trying to excuse his performances. I’m saying he’s never known real disappointment at Tottenham as it’s been constant progress. For the first time in his career he’s facing the very real threat of being surplus to requirements.
Loads missing the point. I’m talking about the journey not ability. From trialist to getting pro deal, to u23s to the first team & Champions League football and England. That’s quite a sharp trajectory. Never experienced being released or having to fight up the leagues. And now..
