Just a quick heads up to all aspiring collegiate hoopers. The basketball recruiting landscape has drastically changed. Colleges now recruit from the college transfer portal FIRST, JUCOs next, prep schools, then high school kids. With that being said, you need to: (Part 1)
1. Be eligible - can’t play if you don’t meet the academic requirements.
2. Know who you TRULY are on the court. Need clarity? Ask your coach or seek professional advice.
3. Understand your market value. Not everyone is a pro or even a D1 recruit (Part 2)
cont.
The object is to go to school and graduate with the least amount of debt as possible.
4. Consider your options, and make a SOUND decision. Think of this as 40 year decision rather than a 4 year decision. Play it right, and you could set yourself up for life. (Part 3)
5. Be grateful. Everyone doesn’t get a chance to be recruited. Your opportunity can be gone in the blink of an eye.
6. To all ‘21s, recruiting for this class is coming to halt. If you have something solid, you may want to consider it. (END)
