There's this old trope in fiction where through the protagonist's journey they find that what they were looking for they had all along (think the wizard of oz or even full metal alchemist) and the way Fujimoto used that trope was beautiful.
Denji realizes that he doesn't need to be defined by his struggles and that struggling in itself is normal, maybe not to the degree of himself everyone has their own struggle. Kobeni being the person to help him realize this drives home this message because throughout the series
She has been in bad situation after another but her struggles were always overshadowed by those around her, providing for your family suddenly becomes trivial when your co-worker lost his to gun devil
Denji used to just accept whatever he was given but suddenly that's not enough anymore, for the first time in his life he realizes it's okay for him to desire, it's normal.
Lust, gluttony and avarice are usually have negative connotations in media but framing this scene comedically helped to lighten the atmosphere and pass it off as something trivial because everyone has these desires, it's just human nature
