Female freelancers please increase your day rates.
Hiring 6 freelance positions last few days. Men are consistently asking for double their female counterparts - same experience, previous work, career milestones.
You’re worth it.

This is an over-simplification of a complex problem underpinned by broader systemic issues. But I was compelled to write it because the disparity between the rates is huge. An example: Female marketing lead asking for £375/day and male marketing lead asking for £795/day.
FYI this is my experience hiring in tech - UX, affiliate management, marketing lead, designers.
And for transparency, I am an expert marketer and I bill £100 - £150 an hour.

For those asking about how I have approached this personally: I had been fearful that telling a female freelancer to charge more might be considered intrusive or patronising. I *have* done it, but rarely.
Now I will do it every time.
