I know it’s Black history month and this is a time for many non-POC to think about how they can be better allies to the Black community, but this is also the time to consider how to be allies for the Asian community as well, they’re suffering greatly and they need us. 1/
To all of my Asian friends, I know this is an incredibly difficult time to watch your own be brutalized for merely existing and I want you to know that I’m here for you, I stand with you, I care about you, and if you need to talk I will always be willing to listen. 2/
Oppressed communities are at their strongest when we stand together and the Black community needs to stand with the Asian community. We can’t ignore each other‘s struggles anymore just because they’re different it only creates more divide and suffering for us all. 3/
Allyship isn’t this homogenous form of support to specific groups it’s a composite of solidarity for all POC. When you’re considering how to support Black people this month also consider helping Asian people as well we live in a world that overlaps too much to neglect others. 4/
