Throughout the prime years of the anti colonial revolutions, the socialist & specifically pro Soviet parties were routinely (& were attacked for being) supportive of black national liberation, both in Africa & in USA.

In this time, off the shores of the USA, the revolution in Nicaragua (against the US hereditary colonial dictatorship, still a thing in the 1980’s) had reached critical mass, & the Sandinista guerrilla fighters managed to set up a small government.
