I can't believe I have to say this again, but after seeing the comments on @GenmCorp's posts I want to reiterate:

Real life comes before fansubs.

Stop being demanding to people you don't know, doing something for free, who don't owe you ANYTHING.
- No, delays aren't unprofessional. Fansubs aren't work.

- Nobody cares that you'll watch another group's release.

- Nobody cares that they just "lost a fan" you're watching free TV shows.

If you already know,
tell 4 friends to tell 4 friends.
Spread the word.
I've had to deal with entitled fans at KITsubs, and Over-Time, and any other group I've assisted with.
Almost 15 years and they never change.
They're not the majority, but they're certainly the loudest.
And I hate to say it, but there aren't a ton of other groups to switch to.
This hobby isn't perpetuating. There's a lot of knowledge that isn't getting passed on to a new generation, and the number of people in the scene is diminishing.

We almost literally all know each other.
This is getting a little traction, so I want to add one more thought. I'm also sick of fans that berate you for dropping a show after the series gets licensed.

Nobody is betraying their roots, they're not selling out, or abandoning the fandom.
The end goal of fansubbing has been, and always should be, introducing the show to a larger audience and hopefully generating enough interest to get more available. Fansubbing isn't a sustainable ecosystem for many reasons.

Operating in a VERY DARKENED gray area bears caution.
If the show is licensed in your territory, then it's a no-brainer. It is absolutely in your smartest interest to stop working on it.

If it's licensed in the target language outside of your region, then I can understand continuing. I wouldn't do it myself, but I can understand.
At the end of the day, it is a personal choice that is part respect and part self preservation.
And the couple dozen extremely vocal and entitled fans that light up your notifications need to understand that.
